Why this exists
I've lived this. I know the morning battles. I know the after-school battles. I know how lost you can feel when all you want is what is right for your child.
When we first realised our child needed support, we were thrown into a world of waiting lists, assessments, school conversations, and the exhausting feeling of trying to do the right thing while not really knowing where to start. We were lost more than once. We were trying to understand what was going on, what help might be available, and how to make life feel a little easier for our child.
I'm not writing this from some polished distance. I'm writing it from lived experience. We are further down the road now, and I want to help you get started. I want to help you feel less alone, and I want to make the first steps feel a little more clear.
Born from lived experience
While we waited, life didn't pause. The morning routine still had to happen. The school drop-off still had to happen. The after-school crash still had to happen. I started teaching myself practical strategies because I needed something that would help us through the day, not just in theory.
I learned to notice patterns, track what helped, and create simple structure around the chaos. I made mistakes, but I also learned what made a real difference. That is what I want to share with you.
What helped me begin
One of the first things we did was reach out to ADDNI and attend a parents' group. That space was not formal coaching, but it was important. It gave us a chance to hear other parents' stories, share our own, and get a little advice from people who understood what this felt like.
Separately, as part of trying to be a better parent and better equipped to help my child, I also chose to train as an ADHD coach. That was a personal step, rooted in wanting to understand more, support more, and show up in a more grounded way.
A note on how I view this work
I am not an expert sitting on high, telling you how to fix your child or your home. I am still living this every single day. Some days run smoothly; other days feel like we are right back at square one. My goal is not to give you a perfect cure. It is to walk beside you, share what helped us, and give you practical tools to make the next step feel a little more manageable.
